Auto owners manual online
Every car should have it in glovebox!
Have you ever spent hours trying to find for owner's manual in your car's glovebox? Or maybe you tought that it's in garage?
All new cars come with an owner's manual from the manufacturer. Most drivers leave them in the glove compartment for easy reference.
Owner's manual could help car owner with servicing and maintaining its car and answer simple questions like where to go for repairs or how to change lightblub, flat tyre etc.
This manuals usually cover three main areas:
- description of the location and operation of all controls
- a schedule and descriptions of maintenance required, both by the owner and by a mechanic
- specifications such as oil and fuel capacity and part numbers of lightbulbs used
Today's auto owner's manuals have become much bigger (even 500 pages!) in part due to many safety warnings most likely designed to avoid product liability lawsuits, as well as from ever more complicated audio and navigational systems, which often have their own manual. Even Chrysler stopped printing them for its vehicles in 2009.
Because all of that in many owner's manuals there is some silly items like "Do not dispose of the vehicle yourself." (2013 Toyota Prius V), "Never use a cup holder to hold hot liquids while the vehicle is moving." (2007 Mazda RX-8), "If you switch off the ignition while driving, safety-relevant functions are only available with limitations, or not at all. Do not switch off the ignition while driving." (2011 Mercedes-Benz GLK) etc.
If owners lose their car manual, they can either order a replacement from a dealer, pick up a used one secondhand, or download a PDF version of the manual online here on Owners manuals for cars.
