Cherokee last year for was 2001. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine was finally buried, child seat tether anchors debuted, and Steel Blue replaced Desert Sand on the color chart. It was replaced by the Grand Cherokee and it played a significant part in reviving Chrysler's fortunes by moving it into the then nascent market for high-margin sports utility vehicles.
