Mitsubishi Galant Owners Manual
The Mitsubishi Galant is an automobile manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors since 1969. The name was derived from the French word galant, meaning "chivalrous". There have been nine distinct generations, and cumulative sales now exceed five million. It began as a compact sedan, but over the course of its life has evolved into a larger mid-size car. Initial production was based only in Japan, but since 1994 the American market has been served by vehicles assembled at the former Diamond-Star Motors (DSM) facility in Normal, Illinois. The Mitsubishi Galant is offered in two trim levels. The basic ES model comes with a six-speaker stereo and six-way power adjustable driver’s seat. A slightly more upscale SE adds a touchscreen navigation system, a more powerful stereo and satellite radio, but also adds significantly to the car’s price. For decades, the Mitsubishi Galant assumed the role of fringe player in the family-sedan game. While representing a good value for the budget-conscious consumer, it was no match for the class leaders due to its small backseat, mostly mediocre powertrains and uninspiring interior design and execution.
