Volkswagen Passat Owners Manual
The Volkswagen Passat is a large family car made by VW through six design generations since 1973. The Passat is first introduced in 1974, the Passat marked a radical departure for VW at the time with front-wheel drive and a water-cooled engine.
Fitting between the Volkswagen Golf / Volkswagen Jetta and the Volkswagen Phaeton in the current Volkswagen line-up, the Passat and its derivatives have been badged variously as Dasher, Santana, Quantum, Magotan, Corsar and Carat. Based on a stretched version of the Audi A4 platform of its day, this Passat offered an unusually upscale feel. The current Passat has been around for some time, uses many well-tried components found in other VW group models.
